I have crafting and crafting, but I just cant put my finger on what I really want to craft! I want to come up with the next "big" thing! I like recycling, so I loved the scrabble tile pendants, but they have pretty much fizzles out. Besides, I didnt come up with that idea!
I did come up with some cute pendants that we call Ucube, but so far its not a big hit :o(
Im brainstorming and really really trying to focus on what the next big thing is!

hello everyone! I am here once again on saturday morning at work :o) Not too much to say today, I am kinda sad, my good friend's 8th grade son committed suicide day before yesterday for no apparent reason. I too have an 8th grader, and I just cannot comprehend why and how this family must be feeling. It is so hard now days to be a teenager! God bless the family and give them peace in some small way today....

My poor neglected blog, I promise to take care of you from now on.
I have been SO busy with school, and its not easy school either. Have you ever studied JUST how many bones we actually have in our body? Let me tell ya, its a lot lol.
Amidst all the studying, I have been being the football mom for my 8 year old son, ebaying, and yard saling. I just opened 2 booths at an antique mall as well.
I just know I HATE ebay. I hate paypal even! They are so greedy and are such a monopoly, I just wish somehow, someway someone would come along that could REALLY put them in their place!
I always have lots of neat stuff and junk to sell, and I am really trying to figure out a way to do it on the net without so much work. Any ideas anybody?
I have thought of my own website but that sounds intimidating. I will be extremely busy with clinicals starting in January. BUT I don't make a lot of money at my current job, so my sales on the side have really helped us out. Ebay is horribly slow right now, I am making no money there at all. I just want something that I can continually make a little money at.
I don't want to be rich, I just want to make it!
Anyhoo, I am just rambling, hoping to come up with an ingenious idea I guess. I have REALLY been crafting, and I will update with some pics later on this week. Please keep checking on me, I really am back :o)

Hi everyone! I am FINALLY done with my exams, and YAH I passed math with a B. I have never been so relieved in my LIFE to pass a class! I have been super busy with school ending and such, but now I have more time to chat and post since I only have one summer class.
I hope everyone's sales on Etsy have been FABULOUS. Mine have been too many at times, to where I couldnt keep up!

Don't have a clue what we are doing for the summer yet. Kids are already getting in the pool daily!
OH and Im on a diet, and I Have really really really been doing great. I have completely redone my whole way of eating. I finally broke my sweet tea habit, and so far in 4 weeks I have lost 10 pounds which I didnt think was too bad!!
I will post again soon!

WE are in for a great week! WHY ? Because I said so! LOL, we gotta stay positive right?? I am in limbo here. Last night I made HUGE sale of 40 items to one person. On one hand I was excited, and another scared. I havent heard back from the customer yet. I convo'ed another seller that the seller had bought a lot from and she emailed and told me she was good for her money, and she didnt think I needed to be worried yet.
SO. We will see! But won't that suck to have to relist 40 items if its not a legit transaction??? Its really sad, that we have reached a point online, that fraud takes away our joy of selling. Know what I mean? I mean back in the good ole days of ebay you would be have been ecstatic to have sold that many items to ONE person. And never questioned it validity! But today, with fraud runnning rampant, every transaction can at any point raise red flags.
I hope hope hope it was a good transaction! Not for the money, but because I REALLY REALLY REALLY dont want to have to relist 40 items!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great week! Just wondering how many treasure hunters are out there! By that I mean, do you go to yard sales, flea markets, antique shops, and resale shops, in search of the ultimate treasure? Well, I am the biggest treasure you will every find. I LOVE love love, to look for things, and find things that are worth money. Because I love money? NO! LOL, I just get a thrill out of learning about new things, especially antiques and collectibles, and then going to a sale and finding a piece of gold for a dollar thats worth 200. I have had many many home runs, (a home run is something you buy for a dollar, and get at least 100!) but havent really found much lately. But I thought I would share with you something I just recently found. As you may know, if you ever look in my Etsy shop, I LOVE jewelry.
Not any particular brand or line, I like it all! Well, a couple of weeks ago, I went to a little resale shop in Nacogdoches Texas. I bought 30 dollars worth of jewelry that day, and came home with a pretty big bagful. One of the things in the bag, was this sorta cute, sorta ugly, sorta gaudy fertility looking God plastic and rhinestone pin. I thought it was neat as it had tons of rhinestones, and was just DIFFERENT. Original price 2.00, on sale half price LOL. Cant beat a dollar right??

So, I go through my new jewels and list my newly acquired vintage pieces on Etsy, and even sell a few right away. My cute little pin sits to the side, just beggin for me to say "HEY why dont I look you up today?"

Today was the day! My little pin man was happy, as I searched for the marking that was on the back of the pin.

So I always choose ebay as my first search option. Looked on there, and was pretty astounded, couldnt find MY little man, but some sorta gaudy and such.

To make a long story short, she was a famous designer, and designed jewelry from the late 20s to the 1970s. Most of items are all worth money. But the pins and bracelets that are figural with the lucite plastics on them and clearly signed are worth a bunch!

Have you ever heard of Bonanzle?? I hadnt either, but another Etsy member referred, and I must say, I LOVE IT! Now, its different than Etsy, I wasnt looking to replace Etsy by any means, I love my ETSY! BUT I have been looking for a place similiar to ebay to sell items that I cant sell through Etsy such as kids clothing. Have a look at it wont you?? Everyone is super super nice, they have this live chat feature, and to list is FREE, there is just an end of item charge, so its way cheaper than ebay, AND there is a lot of traffic!!

Anyone who attends school or works Monday through Friday will tell you that the last day of their week is met with much anticipation. Each Monday, the countdown to Friday begins, and so naturally, Friday is received with open arms. TGIF, the acronym for Thank God It’s Friday, or Thank Goodness It’s Friday came about in the 1960s as a universal mantra to express the relief of the end of the workweek, as well as reference to the good times planned for the weekend ahead.
The weekend as we know it did not come into existence until the five-day workweek became standard in the U.S. and many other industrialized countries in the 20th century. Until then, many workers worked seven days a week, or had only Sundays off. The Sabbath, which varies in Christianity, Judaism and Islam, plays a large role in what comprises a weekend. In the U.S. and other predominately Christian countries, the weekend is Saturday and Sunday. Although Friday is considered by many to be unlucky, some cultures believe that Friday is the luckiest day for marriage and fertility, as it is named for the Norse Goddess Freya, the Goddess of fertility.
One of the earliest references of TGIF can be found in the perennial favorite grill and bar, T.G.I. Fridays, which first opened in 1965 on Manhattan’s Upper East Side as a place for young professionals and students to mingle. Their slogan soon became, “In here, it’s always Friday”®, evoking the celebratory feeling of Friday that everyone looks forward to all week long.
Although TGIF remained an oft used phrase shared by many an employee or student on Friday, it reached its fever pitch by 1978, when Donna Summer starred in the movie, Thank God It’s Friday. Surely, the disco and club scene of the 1970s and 1980s contributed to the party-like atmosphere that Fridays seemed have been imbued with. Even non-partiers relished in the opportunity to stay up late Friday and Saturday, and sleep in late the following day, or make up sleep lost over the workweek. PDFs, or pay-day Fridays are even more special, knowing that you can relax or play with your paycheck newly deposited into your bank account.
In the 1990s, the network ABC launched its TGIF Friday night lineup which brought in the viewers with family friendly comedies. For families, it was a night of relaxation when kids could stay up a little later than usual with the parents.
On college campuses, TGIF means parties and often, heavy drinking. Some universities have used tactics to entice students to enroll in Friday morning classes to avoid Thursday night parties. In an effort to stretch the weekend partying by another day, many bars have introduced the mantra, “Thursday is the new Friday,” to convince students that the standard weekend needs an extra day. Although “TGIT” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, it seems to be working, as more students report avoiding registering for Friday classes to get more socializing time in.

I hope everyone's weekend is going fabulous so far! Have you ever sat back and thought "where is the time going?" You know, the older you get, the time feels like it is truley FLYING! And I hate to fly :o) I want it to slow down a little!! Maybe I am having a midlife crisis or something:::??? Sometimes I sit and think, my life could truley be halfway over!! GEEZ! Man, it wasnt great either! Apparently, I had MOST of my items mistagged through ETSY, so Etsy admin, put them all in inactive and I had to go and redo them all! It really really sucked! Oh well, I got it done, but it scared me to death at first, I didnt know why they made everything inactive, or how to fix it!

Since tonights feature is on the color black, I thought I would search some interesting facts on it!
Black
Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Black also implies submission. Priests wear black to signify submission to God. Some fashion experts say a woman wearing black implies submission to men. (dont know who came up with that but I totally do not believe it!! I wear black all the time, and just ask my husband if I am submissive lol! NOT!)
Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. Villains, such as Dracula, often wear black.

While blue is one of the most popular colors it is one of the least appetizing. Blue food is rare in nature. Food researchers say that when humans searched for food, they learned to avoid toxic or spoiled objects, which were often blue, black, or purple. Because of this, black is considered an appetite suppressant.
(Thats it! I was already in love with the color black anyway, NOW I am for sure, I will never wear colors again! hmmm, but what about my other favorite PINK.......)

All dark colors make objects look smaller. This is true of furniture, fabric on a bed, house paint, and everything else that you can see. The reasons behind this have a lot to do with the way the eye works and how it perceives things that it sees. When you look at something, you tend to see the edges of it and to perceive those edges as the border of the object. This can be blurred when the object is dark because it appears to have fewer borders. A lighter color object will have lines, shapes, and perhaps partitions on it that are very visible to the eye. But when the object is very dark in color, none of those will be very visible at all.
This same principle works with clothing. For instance, if you are wearing a black T-shirt, you will look slimmer on top that if you are wearing a white one. If you have a very light T-shirt on, your shape will be noticeable within the fabric. Any curves, bulges, or flat areas will be noticeable beneath the white fabric. If the T-shirt is black however, that will not be the case. All that will be easily noticeable is that there is a field of black. This field will not have bulges or areas that look large unless the T-shirt is very tight. That creates a field that is slimmer and smaller looking than it would be otherwise.
Many people wear black often because it has this effect on the eye. If you are feeling self-conscious about having a large chest, having a less than flat stomach or any other figure problems on top, a black T-shirt will work wonders works on that area. The plain black field makes the bulges fade away to the eye and can and instill self-confidence for that reason.
Like a black T-shirt, a pair of black pants can be very slimming to the legs. If you have a lower stomach that is giving you trouble, or you have saddlebags or thick thighs, wearing a pair of black pants has the same effect that wearing a black T-shirt has on upper figure faults. It creates that same black field of space in which specific areas of the figure are not noticeable.
The way that light plays against dark and light colors is also a factor in the way that different colors make you look. Black does not reflect back the light that shines on it. A light color reflects light away from it. Both of these effects have an impact on how large the color makes an object book. Because black does not reflect the way the light, it is a deeper field color that makes itself look smaller. Because white does reflect light, its light color draws in the eye. If you don’t want the eye brought to your problem areas, make sure that you are wearing black. This will not only make you look leaner, it will give you the self-confidence you need to feel better about your figure.

Easy Peach cobbler recipe!

This is so yummy! Since tomorrows feature is peaches n cream, I thought this was fitting :o)

QUICK AND EASY PEACH COBBLER

1 c. flour1 c. sugar1 1/2 tsp. baking powder1 stick butter3/4 to 1 c. milk1 lg. can sliced peaches1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)3 tbsp. sugar (optional)
Melt butter in a 2 quart casserole dish in 375 degree oven while combining flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add milk to the dry ingredients and stir until blended. (Method 1) : Pour the batter into the melted butter; dribble peach juice into the mixture and add peaches. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees. (Method 2) : Arrange peaches and juice in melted butter. Drizzle batter back and forth over fruit. Bake 30 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Protecting against heart disease and cancer.
Cocoa beans contain a type of antioxidant which may have a role in the prevention of certain diseases. However, the body needs to capture as many different types of catechins as possible, such as those that are found in tea and chocolate. (A good reason to drink tea and eat chocolate--in moderation of course!)

Such factors may be stress, tiredness, excitement, anger, and hormones. Fasting and eating other foods might also play a role in this. Not drinking enough water may also result in migraines or headaches. Much more research is needed before chocolate can be claimed as not guilty of those infernal migraines and headaches.
Acne and pimples.
A recent Melbourne study has shown that about 70% of people think that certain foods can cause or increase acne. Chocolate is generally thought as being one of the main culprits. However, there is no scientific evidence up to this date that proves that chocolate does trigger or makes acne worse.
ObesityOvereating,
in general, along with long periods of inactivity are the main reasons that may result in obesity. If a person regularly eats more food than their body needs, they will store that excess energy as body fat. Chocolate is energy dense. Regularly eating too much energy-dense foods can be a quick way to gain extra pounds. But it is wrong to say that regularly eating chocolate will lead to obesity if you eat high quality chocolate in moderation. A person who has a healthy diet and lifestyle can safely eat good quality chocolate in moderation without fearing the possible weight gain.
Chocolate is not a ‘health food’.
While there may be some healthy things in chocolate, it does have other components that are not good for you when you have too much of them in your diet - like fat and sugar. Chocolate should not be talked about as some kind of ‘health food’. At the same time, the evidence so far can help take away the guilt of eating chocolate in moderation.

Update on AMAZON Saga!

Hi everyone! thanks for your good wishes! Man this really sucks, and I am not even kidding you! It started with me going around and around this morning with Amazon. That got me absolutely nowhere. They said "YES we can see where something was charged, but we dont know what, and you will have to talk to billing to see about them refunding you. OH but there is no one there that takes incoming calls so it is done through email"
So they opened up another case. Then an hour later, I get another email from them stating that the case is closed. I clicked on the links in the email, and it wouldnt even let me in period! I finally called my bank again, I had to cancel my debit card, which is where my paycheck is, so I have to have my work cancel my direct deposit, so that I can get a paper check while this is being straightened out. That means I have to add the NEW debit card once it gets here in 10 business days, and then it will take a full month for direct deposit to take effect again! That really sucks, because I go to school and I dont have time to physically GO to work on fridays (Im off on fridays) and go to the bank. I can do it, but it is just a major hassel! But anyway, the bank says they will get the money back. I dont know how, or when but supposedly they were confident they would! We'll just have to wait and see what really happens with it....

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend and that your monday morning is off to a good start! or at least a start.... Anyways, I havent had many responses yet to the new thread for NUMBERS, so please post something for tonights feature!
A WARNING for anyone using AMAZON! They have made a major mistake and taken money from our account that we did not authorize. We have never used their service, only signed up for an account a while back to look up school book prices and such. Never bought anything, never sold anything. But saturday early in the morning, I recieved an email saying they had debited 319.92 out of my account. And YEP thats THREE hundred ninety two, not three dollar! So I freaked out and tried to contact them. They say YES we show where we debited your credit card on file, but we cant see why it was done. Supposedly they were going to fix it and issue a refund. I recieve an email this morning, saying "we closed your account and your inquiry is closed"
So I email them back asking about the refund as they didn't mention it in the email. I recieve an email back that states "OH we never debited your account, we tried and it didn't go through but no money was ever taken". So of course by this time, I am HOT!
So I call ONCE again. This time they say, WELL yes I do see where it was taken out, but we cant guarentee they will refund the money. The agent says they are going to reopen the case and forward it to their billing area. We repeatedly asked WHY they charged us to being with, and we were given the run around every time. We have contacted our credit card company and they are investigating to see if we can get our money back. So please BEWARE!
Not to mention, it came from a card that my paycheck is direct deposited on. Please say a prayer for us that they will resolve it SOON! We are not rich, and that was a BUNCH of money to just have disappear!

Well my soldering pictures that is.... Im still not really good at it, but its really really fun, and of course I have already burnt myself lol! Here is a Twilight pendant I made tonight. Tell me what you think (mainly of the solder :o) The hardest part was trying to figure out how to get the sticky gunk off after I finished soldering. But I finally found something that works! Its called

For those of you that have read my blog from the beginning, you will have read that I have followed the Florida case of Caylee Marie Anthony, the little 2 yr old girl that her mother didn't report her missing for a month. They did finally recover her body in December, thrown away in a trash bag, less than 3/4 of a mile from her home. It DEEPLY saddens me to think that a mother, who's love is supposed to be endless, can take the life of an innocent of her innocent baby! How could you look at that baby, with no life left in her, and place her body in a trash bag??? I just don't understand it. Nevertheless, she may be gone, but she will never be forgotten, at least not by me :o) So for tomorrow's feature, let's do something applicable for children. Maybe a picture, or a toy, or a piece of jewelry, or even a quote! Just something to do with a child! Here's the thread:

The heart may be associated with love because the ancient Greeks believed it was the target of Eros, known as Cupid to the Romans. I LOVE Sherbet (As you can see, I spelled it wrong in the last post in the title! I didnt realize it was spelled SherBET versus SherBERT maybe thats a Texas way of saying it lol!)
